Eric Monte, the writer behind Good Times, stated that he helped Jay Leno and David Letterman early in their careers when no one knew their names. According to him, after they became famous, they didn’t return the favor.
He also claimed that Norman Lear took credit for sitcoms like Good Times, The Jeffersons, What’s Happening!!, and All in the Family, even though Monte says he was the one who actually created those shows.
