Ralph Lauren Bought His Shirt at Kmart

Despite building one of the world’s most recognizable luxury fashion brands, Ralph Lauren didn’t feel the need to wear his own label. During a 2018 interview with Jane Pauley, he revealed that the flannel shirt he was wearing was actually purchased at Kmart. 

Lauren said he loved the shirt’s age, rips and worn-in appearance, and that he liked the way he looked in it. When Pauley asked why he chose it for the interview, his simple answer was: he wanted to look great.
