A 32-year-old Bank of America vice president, Erin Piacenti, was fatally stabbed in a random and apparently unprovoked attack in Times Square on Monday.

Police said 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros of Queens allegedly stabbed Piacenti and a 68-year-old man while armed with two knives. The man survived and was hospitalized in stable condition.

Officers confronted Cisneros near Times Square and attempted to stop her with Tasers, but she continued advancing toward them with the knives. Police then shot and killed her. Authorities said there is currently no indication the attack was terrorism-related. (reuters.com)
