Joe Budden announced that he is launching a true crime podcast in partnership with Dick Wolf Entertainment and Advance. He emphasized that the deal is a true partnership, with ownership in the franchise rather than just a licensing arrangement.

Joe and his team expressed excitement about working with Dick Wolf, calling him a legendary creator whose Law & Order franchise set the standard for true crime television. They said they’re honored to help shape the next phase of true crime content starting in 2026.

When asked whether the move was driven by the popularity of true crime podcasts like Crime Junkie, My Favorite Murder, and Morbid, Joe said the decision was primarily fueled by his genuine passion for the genre. He explained that true crime is part of his daily life and that not every project is chosen solely for business reasons, joking that the business strategy is more his manager Ian’s role.

Ian added that the partnership is “groundbreaking” and praised Joe as being at a pivotal point in his career, expressing confidence that the project will be a major success.
