TDE president Punch criticized either Druski or the BET Awards production team after the 2025 BET Awards used the iconic Boyz n the Hood saxophone theme to cut off acceptance speeches that ran over the time limit.

Punch called the choice “weird” because the music comes from one of the movie’s most memorable death scenes, making it an odd and insensitive way to signal award winners to wrap up their speeches. Two TDE artists, Doechii and SZA, were interrupted by the saxophone, and Punch made it clear he didn’t appreciate the decision.
