❌ FEDERAL JOBS: DEI programs at all federal agencies and contractors have been eliminated — cutting hiring pipelines and workplace protections that Black workers relied on.
🪖 MILITARY: DEI programs are being removed from the Department of Defense. The military has historically been one of the most reliable paths to economic mobility for Black Americans — fewer support structures means fewer opportunities for advancement.
🔫 POLICING: Consent decrees — one of the few tools used to hold police departments accountable — are being reviewed and potentially terminated. Black people are already nearly 3x more likely to be killed by police than white people.
📚 EDUCATION: Teaching concepts like systemic racism in federally funded institutions is now restricted — limiting how fully Black history can be taught.
💰 ECONOMICS: Researchers estimate closing racial gaps in wages, education, and lending access could have added $16 trillion to the U.S. economy since 2000. Rolling back equity programs moves us in the opposite direction.
