According to the public record of the O.J. Simpson trial, O.J. Simpson’s DNA was not found under Nicole Brown Simpson’s fingernails, a point raised by the defense to suggest the absence of evidence of a struggle. This was one of many contested pieces of forensic evidence debated during the trial.
The late comedian and activist Dick Gregory was among those who publicly speculated about various aspects of the O.J. Simpson case, including unverified claims regarding forensic lab workers. These claims were never substantiated and should be regarded as personal opinion and speculation, not established fact.
In a separate and unrelated incident, a man identified as Willie Woods, a city employee, opened fire at the Piper Technical Center in downtown Los Angeles, killing four managers. Woods was described by police as a disgruntled employee who believed he was about to lose his job. The four victims were long-serving city employees. Woods was apprehended without incident. The Piper Technical Center houses various Los Angeles city departments including LAPD forensic and technical divisions.
