Why is there an issue with nepotism when it involves LeBron James and Bronny James, Coach Deion Sanders aka Coach Prime and his sons Shilo Sanders and Shaedur Sanders, but there’s no outcry toward Ian Eagle’s son Noah getting a job because of his dad, or Cris Collinsworth’s son Jac getting a job because of his dad, or Kevin Harlan’s daughter Olivia Harlan Dekker getting a job because of her dad? I have no problem with nepotism; I believe family should get family in the door. The issue is when Black people do it, it’s a problem. Bronny shined in high school because of his skill set and got a scholarship to Arizona because of his skill. Shaedur succeeded in high school and college because of his skill set. Black people have to work harder to get in the door, which is why the DEI argument is silly. Because when people say, “If they have a Black pilot, he or she obviously got the role because they cut the line and didn’t have to take flight courses,” that’s false. Nepotism in the U.S. is the oldest form of opportunity and has been dominated by white people, and even current DEI is dominated by white women, so Black people aren’t even the main beneficiaries of DEI. How did JJ Redick get the Lakers job without any head coach experience besides his child’s middle school team? How did Tom Brady get the top-paid broadcasting salary without any broadcast experience? Was DEI mentioned? Or is it only mentioned in regards to Black people? Is nepotism okay for Archie, Peyton, Eli, and Arch Manning? And is it bad for Coach Prime, Shilo, and Shaedur Sanders?
