Why are Kyle Shanahan and Ben Johnson called brilliant minds for their coaching, but DeMeco Ryans and Mike Tomlin just called motivators, when DeMeco and Mike have accomplished more than Kyle and Ben? Where does this media bias come from?
It’s as if Black minds are still being projected as inferior. Reminds me of the days when the media said Black people weren’t smart enough to play QB or coach. The same boys’ club blocked Walter Payton from owning a team, claiming he didn’t have enough experience—but how many NFL owners had NFL ownership experience before buying a team? There have always been huge barriers for Black people in sports, and the media has done its job pushing Black inferiority instead of equality.
