The show was created by husband-and-wife duo Dr. Javoris Hollingsworth and Dr. Arlene Gordon-Hollingsworth, who each bring a distinct expertise to the channel’s success.

Dr. Javoris Hollingsworth, a former chemistry professor turned musician, serves as the creator, songwriter, and executive producer behind the show’s music and beats — the catchy soundtrack that’s helped make Gracie’s Corner a hit with young viewers.

Dr. Arlene Gordon-Hollingsworth brings a different kind of expertise to the table. As a licensed clinical psychologist, she helps shape the educational and developmental framework behind the content, ensuring the show isn’t just entertaining, but developmentally sound for its young audience.

Why They Started It

The channel launched in June 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Hollingsworths were motivated by a desire to give their three children more diverse and inclusive media representation — something they felt was missing in children’s content at the time.

The Voice Behind Gracie

The animated character at the center of it all has a real voice behind her: the couple’s oldest daughter, Graceyn “Gracie” Hollingsworth, lends her singing talents to bring the beloved character to life.
