The letter demands LSU “immediately cease and desist from any further use, display, publication, distribution, promotion, commercialization, or other exploitation of Mr. Daniels’ NIL in any manner or medium.” It also requires LSU to preserve all related records — contracts, communications, marketing materials, and financial documents — and to suspend any routine data deletion policies that could destroy relevant evidence.
The letter warns that continued use of Daniels’ NIL “will be deemed knowing and willful and will be pursued vigorously through all available legal and equitable remedies, without further notice.” All future communication regarding the matter must go through Daniels’ attorney directly.
Nowhere in the letter is there any mention of jersey numbers or another player wearing Daniels’ old number. The dispute is strictly a legal NIL rights matter — any claims connecting this letter to a number controversy are inaccurate and unsupported by the actual document.
